ROBOCUT New function: Wire Saving Function

In wire electrical discharge machining, the wire accounts for roughly half of the total cost of consumables.

To meet customers’ requests to reduce the machining costs, FANUC has developed a new Wire Saving function, which now is standard on the ROBOCUT α‑CiC Series.

With the Wire Saving function, the wire feed rates can be set slower than usual to reduce the wire consumption. The amount to be machined is automatically adjusted according to the slower feed rate. As a result, the wire consumption can be reduced by up to 50% while maintaining the machining accuracy.
