ROBODRILL New Function: G-codes
The newly developed G-codes contributes to a cycle time reduction and further enhance usability.
The new additions consist of the contouring cycle G171, chamfering cycle G182, and threading cycle G184. Contouring requires writing complicated programs, but now, it has become possible for contouring to be handled like canned cycles, making it much simpler. Furthermore, variable conditions and a function for switching conditions were added to the drilling cycle G181 and peck drilling cycle G183.
Contouring Cycle G171
With G171, using a T command in circular end milling makes various contouring possible. Since various diameters of holes can be machine with a single end mill, the number of tools can be reduced.
Drilling Cycle G181
By giving 2 sets of spindle speed and feed speed to G181 with a T command, cutting conditions can be changed during drilling.
Chamfering Cycle G182
With G182, chamfering by circular interpolation can be performed by specifying the diameter of a hole. Till now, it was necessary to create a circular interpolation program, but G182 enables multiple holes to be easily chamfered in the front and back, in the same manner as using canned cycle programs.
Peck Drilling Cycle G183
By giving a T command in G183, each depth of cut can be changed during the pecking motion.
As in the example below, the cycle time can be reduced by gradually increasing the depth of cut.
Furthermore, drilling of small diameter holes will become more stable by decreasing the depth of cut towards the bottom, as this will help chip evacuation.
Threading Cycle G184
G184 is a G-code that supports machining with a thread mill. In the past, thread milling required a dedicated programming tool or a CAD/CAM software. With G184, selecting an appropriate T command will enable thread milling of special tools or threading for various thread standards.
- The new G-codes are standard functions of the ROBODRILL α-DiB ADV Plus series (advanced version).
- The α-DiB Plus series (standard version) does not support some functions.
* Can only be used with an α-DiB ADV Plus with the high-speed CPU option.
